Sovereign Open Web Search Infrastructure for Human–Agent Collaboration @ IRIXYS
At IRIXYS, the International Research & Innovation Centre for Digital Intelligent Systems, the University of Passau, INSA Lyon, and University of Milan connect research, education and transfer in AI, cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, supported by the Franco-German University (DFH/UFA).
Partners work on sovereign, decentralized, and privacy-preserving AI search solutions built on open resources such as the Open Web Index . The research explores independent search infrastructures that are transparent, auditable, and reusable; AI agents that retrieve, compare, and structure knowledge without moving sensitive context into central cloud platforms; and interaction models that keep humans in control of sources, scopes, and decisions. The DeKIS Project at the University of Passau validates these ideas for industrial use cases, turning open web data into trustworthy, agent-supported information access for Europe.
