From the 13th to the 17th of May 2024 the 32nd IRIXYS Workshop took place in Anglet, France. The workshop was organized by the ‘Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour’ (UPPA).
This years` IRIXYS Summer Workshop launched with an energetic start, diving into the realm of design fiction and exploring data and AI-driven futures. Attendees from France, Germany, and Italy enthusiastically engaged in brainstorming sessions, merging technology with societal themes to envision the limitless possibilities of AI and Big Data.
The highlight of the week was the creativity workshop on Data and AI Driven Futures. Participants channeled their innovative spirits into drafting scenarios that blend advanced technologies with their societal impacts. Three teams developed distinct projects: a secure electronic personal proxy, low-tech autonomous smart robots for community farming, and augmented reality applications to enhance the lives of the elderly. We were shown vibrant presentations, as teams used digital mind mapping to transform their tech-inspired ideas into engaging visual stories. These presentations not only showcased future potentials but also sparked rich discussions on their ethical and societal dimensions.
We would like to thank everyone who made this week an exciting and eventful one and are already looking forward to the next workshop!
