Zeina Torbey: Replica Placement in CReaM based on user interests

In ‘CReaM’, our user centric replication model, the replication process begins when the user becomes unsatisfied of the consumption of the resources of its device; it selects a suitable data item and consequently, it asks neighbors to hold replica of this data item. The selecting of relevant holder among neighbor is based on the user interests as primary criteria; so when a replica needs to be placed, it searches the nodes that can serve the biggest number of interested users. In order to increase the efficiency of the replication process, the mechanism to select the relevant replica holders must be optimal.  The proposed replica placement mechanisms are the subject of this presentation.
