Prof. Ernesto Damiani: Exploiting Multimedia Information in Policy Language

The global information infrastructure is becoming more and more pervasive; digital business transactions are performed at different times and locations, using a variety of mobile devices capable of generating multimedia information and transmitting it using different communication channels. Most policy languages, however, still express access conditions based on the value of text attributes. The talk uses some practical examples to discuss how (interpreted, semantically enriched) multimedia information on subjects and on distributed resources can be exploited by a new generation of access and usage control policy languages.
