Mathieu Gaillard, a former student of IRIXYS, is one of the eleven bachelor and master graduates to have received the Excellence Award of the French-German University.
The award ceremony took place at the French Embassy on January 24th 2019 in front of the Ambassador of France in Germany, Anne-Marie Descôtes, and French and German representatives from the industry and the academia.
The Award of the Excellence rewards the best double degree graduates enrolled in one of the 180 integrated study curricula labeled by the French-German University. This distinction highlights the excellent academic results, intercultural skills and linguistic proficiency acquired by the students during their studies in France and Germany.
Mathieu Gaillard from the INSA Lyon graduated in 2018 with the double master degree “Computer Science, Information and Communication” in partnership with the University of Passau. In his master thesis supervised by Dr. (HdR) Elöd Egyed-Zsigmond and Prof. Michael Granitzer, he focused on “Perceptual Hashing using Convolutional Neural Networks for Large Scale Reverse Image Search”.
He is now doing a PhD thesis in graphic computer science at the University of Purdue, West Lafayette, USA.
Eventually, Mathieu Gaillard received a special award for being the best master student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Passau in 2018.
